Forum Linux.gui pas de resolution 1280x8àà sur mon portable Gericom Xcellent

Bonjour,

je possède un Gericom BlockBuster Xcellent avec une carte graphique intégré de type Intel 855PM + ICH4M (FW82801DBM) chipset with graphic.

J'ai installé il y a quelque temps déjà une gentoo 2005-1 avec mis à jour du dernier noyau 2.6.13-r3.

Je n'ai jamais réussit à avoir la résolution maxi que propose ma carte graphique à savoir du 1280x800. En effet je reste en résolu maxi qui est 1024x768 ce qui ne me plais pas.

En outre, j'ai un dual boot et j'ai remarqué que sous windows l'écran proposait une luminosité meilleure et un contraste plus net. Sous linux j'ai cette impression de contour qui bave légérèrement ce qui me gêne au bout d'un certain temps.

je pense que cela est lié à ma configuration de X11 mais je ne sais pas comment résoudre mon problème sachant que j'ai essayé plusieurs méthodes sans succès.

quelqu'un a til déjà réussit cet exploit de modifier cette config forcée en 12800*800.

    T'es en train de dire que t'es sous gentoo et que tu sais pas un minimum configurer le serveur X?
    T'es sur que tu serais pas mieux sous mandriva ou (k)ubuntu?

    Tu devrais avoir une base par la :

    sauf qu'avec xorg le fichier de conf c'est /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    D'ailleur man xorg.conf devrait etre util aussi.

      je tiens à dire que ce n'est pas parce que l'on ne connait pas toutes les subtilités d'une distrib qu'il faille l'abandonner. Moi je suis même du genre perspicace mais ceci dis sur la partie graphique et notamment xorg.conf c'estassez flou car je découvre cela et quoi de mieux pour apprendre que les problèmes rencontrés.

      Bref cette parenthèse fermée je connais ce lien que tu m'as fourni (merci d'ailleurs) mais je pense que cela viendrai plus de l'aspect caractéristique de la carte graphique.

        Je suis franchement dubitatif sur le fait que cela vienne de la carte.
        J'aurais plutot tendance a penser a la conf de xorg, ne serait ce que parce que la conf par default est pas toujours terrible.

        Si tu a moyen de trouver les frequeneces de rafraichissement de ton ecran, tu les remet comme il faut dans ta section monitor du xorg.conf et ca devrait aller mieux

        un truc du genre :

        Bon je te conseil le test sur le DefaultDepth 16 car ca devrait quand meme le faire si effectivement il y a des pb de puissance de garte graphique.

        Apres il peut aussi y avoir des histoires de modline je crois mais la je sais pas trop comment ca marche vue que j'ai jamais eu a faire a ces truc.

      bonjour,

      j'ai fais un test avec 855resolution et mkxf86config et j'e n'arrive pas à forcer la résolution.

      juste une chose, j'ai compilé dans le kernel le driver i915 et activé le DRM (ce ne sont donc pas des modules à charger à la main).

      je pense qu'il faut que je trouve une modeline qui puisse me donner ma bonne résolution ...

          aidez moi !!!

          je n'ai toujours pas de solutions.
          Pour infos sus :

          je n'ai pas de /dev/agpgart
          en faisant cat /proc/modules j'ai des snd_xxxxx, et ma carte ethernet 8139too

          je n'ai par contre pas le module agpgart alors que je l'ai bien coché dans le kernel (compilé en interne).
          le modprobe agpgart me donne : Module agpgart not found
