Probleme xinit et resolution

Bonjour à tous,

je viens vous poser une question à laquelle je ne trouve pas de réponse.
J'ai une debian avec un serveur X qui se lance, avec GDM ensuite.

Lorsque je choisis mon window-manager kde , j'ai la bonne résolution soit 1280 * 1024
Lorsque je choisis mon window-manager gnome , j'ai la bonne résolution soit 1280 * 1024

pas de probléme me diez vous ? et ben si !

je n'aime pas que X se lance tout seul, alors j'ai changé mon runlevel par défaut pour que X ne se lance plus -> c OK
par contre quand je fais xinit startkde (j'ai dans mon .xinitrc la ligne exec $1) kde se lance bien, mais les polices sont toutes petites !!!
alors que si je fais xinit gnome-session et ben la c'est pareil que quand X démarre tout seul, tout est nickel ...

ou est l'astuce ? il s'agit d'un probléme kde ou de mon fichier de conf X ?
