Un jour on peut lire ça :
An announcement from Sun spokesman Raghavan Srinivas indicates that, contrary to what we've heard in the past, Java will be Open-sourced. "We haven't worked out how to open-source Java, but at some point it will happen," Srinivas said.

A Sun spokesman and James Gosling now say that there are no set plans to distribute Java under an open-source license. According to Gosling, 'the debate is still going on, fast and furious'. Concerns about forking are cited, as usual.

Enfin ils faudrait surtout qu'ils arrêtent de dire "Java will be Open-sourced" avant que ça soit décidé, sans donner de date.

    Moi j'ai l'impression qu'ils disent à peu près la même chose.
    Il faudrait surtout arrêter d'extrapoler à outrance...

    C'est quoi qu'ils veulent mettre open-source (ou pas ;) ?

    Je ne connais que vaguement Java.
    Quand ils en parlent, ils parlent de la machine virtuelle ?
    Est-ce qu'il y a un compilateur Java, qui serait lui aussi éventuellement ouvert ?
