Tu as deux façons de voir les choses. Soit tu te dis "je vais aller chercher dans une encyclopédie" et dans ce cas oui tu vas chercher volontairement dans wikipedia, soit tu te dis "je cherche des informations sur…" et tu passes par Google (ou autre) qui, si cela est pertinent, te présentera les résultats de cet encyclopédie mais aussi potentiellement d'autres résultats.
Et mon avis est que dans beaucoup de cas on est plutôt dans le deuxième, le but n'est pas de chercher dans wikipedia mais de répondre à une question qu'on se pose.
elles n'ont pas été mise parce qu'un service propriétaire implique que ça soit centralisé (enfin techniquement non on pourrait avoir un blob binaire à installer chez soi, ou ça pourrait être réparti entre plusieurs boîtes, mais en pratique c'est toujours le cas).
Hum, décentralisé ça veut pas forcément dire que toi tu peux l'installer, c'est plus un aspect technique qu'autre chose.

Mais après tout dépend le but de l'appli. Si c'est pour faire un flappy truc, pas besoin d'une intégration UI poussée ;-)

Mais ça vaudrait le coup de tenter quand même.

J'ai vu passer pas mal de choses, en javascript, en ruby, … et aussi la moulinette de Google qui cross compile ton code java en objective C pour les couches bas niveaux
Une autre solution est de tout faire en c++, avec Qt. Ça permet d'avoir un seul code source et de le faire tourner sous win, mac, linux, iOS, Android (blackberry aussi je crois mais pas testé) et avec QML une interface qui peut être sympa sur tous les devices.
Et côté perf c'est plutôt pas mal.
En tout cas pour le moment je trouve que c'est une des meilleurs solutions pour faire une application sur plusieurs plateformes.

Oué enfin tu parlais de « la tétrachiée de binaire livrée avec windows », pas de selinux ou de l'équivalent windows. Et de la même manière je pense que les commits dans le noyau de windows sont légèrement revus.
Et insérer une backdoor c'est parfois pas grand chose, une bricole mal placée et c'est bon (il suffit de voir l'ampleur des dernières failles sur la sécu et de comparer avec le code incriminé).
Pas de problème, je comprends que ce point là soit particulièrement important pour ceux qui ont des connaissances techniques :)
En fait c'est pas du tout lié à des connaissances techniques. C'est juste qu'il y a une énorme différence entre financer une idée (sans avoir aucune idée de la capacité de l'équipe à la réaliser, ce qui est le cas je trouve) et financer pour poursuivre des travaux. C'est pour ça que, souvent, les projets qui fonctionnent sur kickstarter (ou autre) sont des passages à l'échelle, des financements pour passer à l'industrialisation, etc, mais basés sur quelque chose d'existant et fonctionnel.
D'ailleurs (question aux créateurs) avez-vous déjà commencé à bosser dessus ou attendez-vous les financements ?

A priori en Qt 5.4 (la prochaine version) QML devrait reprendre le style des composants d'UI natifs d'Android. Donc plutôt un bon point pour ça.
