Les mêmes qui ignorent les commentaires dans le code sont souvent les mêmes qui ne lisent pas les commits. D’ailleurs, petit sondage : y en a combien qui lisent les logs ? (interro prévu pour ceux qui répondront machinalement oui pour bien faire)

Quand je cherche digikam j‘ai actuellement 36 résultats (donc users qui ont mis à disposition leur recette/variante) et le tableau indique combien de sources chaque user publie et combien de paquets ont été généré à partir de là. Je prends par hasard celui de Andrew Coles qui en a respectivement 5 et 49, je vois qu’il propose bien les sources (je n’en ai pas encore vu qui le font pas, mais j’imagine que c’est possible.) Ce qui te laisse la possibilité de compiler toi même (sans attendre que quelqu’un te réinvente le Makefile en bash.)
Comme il utilise Launchpad pour builder, du coup il utilise un processus standardisé et reproductible. Cette machinerie n’est pas mise en avant parce-que la cible c’est des gens qui veulent le binaire pour leur version+architecture. Cette cible n’a pas envie de trifouiller des scripts pour que ça marche, et c’est pour cela que je trouve vain et malaisant de vouloir leur fourguer du Arch en tapant sur d’autres distributions.
Perso, quand je veux « garder le contrôle » total, ça passe par la Gentoo plutôt.

C’est justement la problématique qu’a voulu adressé Ubuntu avec les PPA : n’importe quel usager un peu motivé peu proposer des paquets indépendamment des mainteneurs officiels qui sont soumis à un autre rythme (la release officielle) et d’autres contraintes.
Beaucoup de logiciels non populaires ou n’ayant pas passé l’acceptation de la charte Debian, et beaucoup de logiciels déjà maintenus mais ayant des versions jugées plus intéressantes et urgentes, ont leur PPA…

Le .deb c’est une archive formalisée (tout comme le sont les formats EPub ou Open Document) contenant : les fichiers à installer, des fichiers métas et des scripts. Les binaires ne sont pas séparés (comprendre retéléchargés quelque part sur la toile : l’archive —et c’est là que le mot convient bien— se suffit et se transporte —nonobstant les dépendances)
Mais il est possible de récupérer les sources utilisés par la distribution (ou autres —qui peut être du projet upstream ou d’un PPA… ou ailleurs— si l’on préfère), de modifier ce que l’on souhaite et de compiler avec ses propres paramètres. Étonnamment, les gens refusent de le faire mais vont ailleurs et ne font que ça…

Je parlais bien du premier cas ; mais on est bien d’accord et cela ne change pas la problématique qu’on n’est pas obligé d’accepter tout et n’importe quoi comme clientèle.
J’ai encore récemment vu un service en ligne qui n’accepte pas les inscriptions avec des adresses en @gmail.com !
J’ai eu aussi à pratiquer ce genre de tri par le passé : je ne prenais pas d’adresse en @hotmail.

Documenter du code n’est pas forcément écrire un document à côté hein. Mettre des docstrings pertinents (si ce n’est pas pertinent c’est du remplissage et non de la documentation qui aidera) et mettre à jour au fur et à mesure, c’est aussi documenter et au passage, documenter fait partie des pratiques standards.

Euh… Le « P » de PPA (personal) est exactement équivalent au « U » de AUR (user) et bien qu’il y ait « A » (archive) pour insister sur le fait que ça permet de distribuer des paquets, il s’agit bien d’un dépôt —donc aurait pu être « R » (repository) aussi— et d’une forge (a.k.a launchpad) si tu veux vérifier/critiquer/améliorer etc.

Comme tu as utilisé une partition existante, le formatage pour la nouvelle installation est donc sur les mêmes fondations qu’avant ; normal du coup que testdisk ne le voit pas comme ancien.
Suppose que tu poses tes cartons dans un nouvel appart qui devait être reconstruit. Mais si les murs n’ont pas bougés et que tu appelles une archéologue (exemple caricatural), celle-ci ne trouvera pas de différence entre les murs de l’appart avant rénovation et l’actuel car ce sont les mêmes.

C’était mon point : l’autrice ou auteur a probablement « archivé » son .odt voir l’a imprimé qui sait ? Mais on en conclu que si ça ne se trouve pas dans les archives web il faut faire une archive papier (qui ne se transformera pas en contenu web pour autant…)
