Note : j'ai entre autre ce contrat, j'en profite, mais ça ne veut pas dire que je trouve ça "normal", surtout que je vais payer très peu d'impots dessus, juste 15% de charges sociales et rien en impot sur le revenu progressif avant un bon montant plus que le SMIC du mec qui en chie au travail, facile la vie de rentier.

La compatibilité des applications tierces avec Windows XP n’est pas du ressort de Microsoft mais une conséquence de son immobilisme.
Heu, non, Microsoft assure vraiment la compatibilité des API (et ABI) Windows pendant un temps assez long. Pendant ce temps-là, sous Linux, on passe de GTK2 à GTK3, etc.
Bien sûr, tu ne peux pas (facilement) utiliser les nouveautés de Windows Vista tout en restant compatible XP, par contre si tu écris du code pour XP, il y a très peu de chances qu'il ne marche pas sur les versions ultérieures.
Je pense que la différence est qu'il assez facile d'installer la version désirée de Firefox (il suffit de télécharger le bon binaire), alors que pour GNOME la plupart des gens doivent s'en remettre à leur distribution.
De toute façon le biais de sélection est tellement énorme et incontrôlé que ces résultats ne veulent rien dire.
(par exemple il est évident que Coverity, qui propose gratuitement son service à certains projets libres, cible en priorité - marketing oblige - de gros projets bien établis, donc relativement bien maintenus aussi…)
Pour comparer la qualité des logiciels libres et propriétaires il faudrait sélectionner des logiciels fonctionnellement équivalents, avec également une popularité et une maturité relativement proches.
Les libristes naïfs qui répercutent ce genre d'infos devraient comprendre qu'elles ne servent qu'à une chose : faire la pub de Coverity, pas celle du logiciel libre.
Le "scrolling de malade" utilisait tout bêtement le scrolling hard du CRTC 6845 (en modifiant l'adresse de départ de la VRAM, registres 12 et 13 si je me souviens bien). C'est d'ailleurs pour cela que le scrolling était si brutal, car la VRAM n'était adressable que par incréments de deux octets, donc huit pixels minimum en mode 320x200.
Python 3 sans le moindre doute. Le langage a été un peu nettoyé, le support unicode est bien meilleur, et un très grand nombre de bibliothèques majeures est maintenant compatible.
(mais ce n'est pas Python 3.0 qu'il faut choisir mais bien Python 3.4 :-))
HS : ouhlala, ça devient compliqué le système de notation de Linuxfr ! C'est conçu par un core développeur Perl ?
Tu devrais réviser l'histoire de la micro des années 80 : Amiga, Atari, etc. ont fait des supers trucs avec un gros budget R&D. Mais c'est Billou qui a gagné avec un gros budget marketing.
Il y a surtout que les PC sont compatibles d'un constructeur à l'autre alors qu'Amiga et Atari étaient des écosystèmes fermés. Billou n'y est peut-être pas pour grand'chose ; c'était une volonté d'IBM.
Ou tout bêtement un genre de "use strict" à déposer en haut du fichier.
(Python a les "from __future__ import XXX" qui peuvent même influencer certains comportements syntaxiques)
Je ne comprends pas trop ce qu'il y a de nouveau, vu que les boutons de la barre d'outils sont déjà configurables. Cela n'ajoute guère qu'un menu à droite, qui ne me semble pas très convaincant, mais bon.
Personnellement, j'ai quelques raisons de ne pas trop aimer Twisted :
- développeurs opposés à Python 3
- communauté de développement en général assez peu agréable
- architecture un peu byzantine et difficile à comprendre (surtout si l'on veut contribuer des trucs)
- tendance à réinventer la roue
Après, c'est personnel et ça ne reflète pas forcément l'avis des autres core développeurs de Python.
(quant à XMPP, je suis content de savoir que ça marche aujourd'hui, à l'époque où j'avais essayé - vers 2007 -, c'était largement en chantier et le développeur principal n'accueillait pas vraiment les propositions de contribution)
