Je plussoies : Venant d'Oracle, la migration sera plus rapide (s'il y a du code avec du SQL non ANSI/standard…) et simple (en particulier s'il y a du PL/SQL dans la boucle) en passant à PostgreSQL !
Pour le broker, c'est effectivement pour de petits « messages » et non pour lire jusqu'à 50 MiO de données. J'ai l'impression que les devs et archis ont voulu se faire plaisir avec des technos sexy mais qui ne collent pas forcément au besoin.

Bah ça distingue l'extérieur et l'intérieur (ou plutôt l'individu et le groupe proprio du reste du monde) là où d'autres multiplient inutilement. Ça distingue grossomodo trois niveaux d'accès (consultation, modification, totale) là où d'autres ont une granulation plus compliquée. Après c'est sûr que si tu viens de DOS c'est beaucoup plus qu'on en gère mais il ne faut pas oublier que c'est en vase mono-user full-access mono-task.

une liseuse d'une taille décente , avec un écran ink-paper b&w (ou quelque gris si ça existe) avec une définition correcte
Il faut juste voir les formats supportés par la liseuse que tu convoites. Par exemple avec les modèles Kobo que j'ai utilisés, ça le fait bien (la lecture de PDF que j'y dépose comme sur une clé USB.)
et qulques gadgets genre mémoriser des marque-pages, envoyer une page vers une imprimante, ou m'afficher l'heure.
Par contre, étant prévu à la base pour gérer des EPub il peut manquer certaines choses (comme la gestion de marque-pages), et je n'ai pas souvenir d'avoir vu de liseuse offrir l'impression papier.
Ceci dit, sur certains modèles, tu peux installer des programmes (notamment un lecteur PDF plus avancé ?) mais je trouve que le PDF c'est mieux sur un ordi (ou une surface…? sous GNU/Linux ou *BSD de préférence…)

Idem, j'ai juste progressivement remplacé les ondes hertziennes et téléchargement sur discman par ces flux audio préselectionnés pour rentabiliser mes temps mort de trajet et autres, quand je ne parallélise pas parfois. Idem, je regarde quelques fois des vidéos pointues comme du temps des Amphis de la cinquième, mais c'est en pourcentage moindre qu'il n'y paraît.

Hihi ta sœur et ton coloc sont les geeks de mon exemple, voire des pirates (en tout cas tes commerciaux le sont du point de vue de l'équipe sécu…) Que ces personnes y arrivent tant mieux (ça veut dire qu'on a bien simplifié les outils et facilité leur accès) mais mon propos était que l'existence de la parade ne rend pas le procédé d'emmerdement (DRM) licite et souhaitable. Beaucoup de gens savent utiliser une radio ou une carte de crédit pour ouvrir une porte (bon, cette fois-ci je me retiens de faire la distinction caricaturale et artificielle cambriole vs honnête) mais cela n'est pas en contradiction avec le fait que tu sois à la merci du bon vouloir d'escrocs pour dormir chez toi (bien qu'on dira toujours que tu trouveras le moyen de crocheter la serrure de ta chambre pour faire la sieste.)
